The Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST) program strives to produce better teachers in our country by upgrading their qualifications and increasing their knowledge, practice, and professional involvement. Teachers must work hard to improve their teaching skills. Teachers must become digitally literate in the twenty-first century. They must understand how to use and operate digital tools to make teaching and learning meaningful and engaging for students (Adone, 2020). As future educators, we need to clearly understand the standards set for professional teachers to achieve the required qualities to teach efficiently and effectively in the future.
Effective teachers are critical in developing a student's learning achievement. They have a profound and long-lasting impact on all of their students. They can also have a significant effect on a student's life. Teachers form and shape a student's personality and sometimes their future. The Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST) focuses on the abilities and tactics that enhance the teaching and learning process. It combines both teachers' and students' competent and proper use of information and communication technology. It also teaches educators that to be regarded as quality instructors, they must understand what to teach and impart them to students.
With the Philippine Professional Standard for Teachers, pre-service teachers became quality teachers equipped with 21st-century skills that can enhance the schooling and improve the students' outcomes.
