Frequently, when you purchase an item (shoes, electrical equipment, wallets, etc. ), you will also receive a small bag labeled "Silica Gel." It's a granular material that absorbs moisture and preserves the product.
We throw these bags away most of the time because we don't know what to do with them, yet they could be really beneficial.
What is the best way to use silica gel?
1.- Wet Cell
If your phone gets wet or even "bathed," simply switch it off, remove the battery and SIM card, and place it in a silica gel bottle overnight to absorb all of the moisture.
2.- Moldy Clothes
Put a couple of packs of silica gel in your baggage if your belongings are still moist after your holiday to get rid of the musty odor.
3.- A foul-smelling sports bag
The stench of a gym bag and locker is not nice at all. The scent will be reduced to some extent if you place several sachets of silica gel in your bag.
4.- A camera lens that is foggy
When camera lenses fog up, such as when going from cold to warm, these magical bags will save the day. You can store them in the camera case or, in emergency situations (such as with a cell phone), repeat the methods outlined in point 1.
5.- Seed preservation
If you have bags of seeds to sow in the house, you must be very careful not to let them get wet during the winter. However, if you use an airtight container and place the seeds and silica gel packets inside, this will not be an issue.
6.- Dry Flowers
Wrapping flowers in paper with one or more bags of silica gel will help them dry faster.
7.- Photographic storage
Do you wish to be able to savor the vivid recollections captured in vintage photographs for a longer period of time? In the cardboard box with the pictures, place a bag of silica gel. This will keep them from sticking together.
8.- Cutlery maintenance
Tartar will be protected by silica gel on good quality silver. If you keep a bag of silica gel in a kitchen drawer or jewelry box, the rust will not spread to other metal items.
9.- Razor blade
Razor blades come into regular contact with water, which causes corrosion and dullness. What can you do to keep this from happening? They'll survive much longer if you keep them together in a plastic box with this amazing stuff.
10.- Windshield
Your windshield will be less foggy if you have more bags of silica gel on your dash.
